Fire and Emergency Services
Neighbours Saving Neighbours
Just recently launched a volunteer recruitment campaign for the Neighbours Saving Neighbours volunteer responder program for cardiac arrest. People from every township are eligible to apply.
If you haven’t seen anything about this yet, volunteers from across the townships will be trained in CPR and the use of an AED. When there’s a 911 call for cardiac emergency in their area, volunteers will be alerted by mobile app via 911 dispatch. If they arrive before paramedics, they can begin treatment that could save a life.
This is a great program for everyone, especially in rural areas where it can take ambulance crews a few extra minutes to arrive. It’s free for volunteers and us. It’s a really great chance to get people involved and working together toward a really positive set of goals.

In the event of an emergency please dial 911.

Be Prepared
Emergencies can happen at anytime and occur anywhere, sometimes without much warning. An emergency can force you to evacuate your neighbourhood or confine you to your home or workplace. It can leave you without basic services such as water, gas, electricity or a working telephone. Are you prepared?
Although Ontario has effective emergency management legislation and programs, individuals and families play a vital role in preparing for times of crisis when emergency services and other government resources may be strained. It is important that individuals and families prepare to take care of themselves for at least three days.
Individuals and families are best able to cope when they have taken the time to prepare before an emergency happens.
Follow the steps below to ensure that you are ready in the event of an emergency:
