Howe Island - Dry Fire Hydrant
Township of Frontenac Islands
Howe Island Fire & Rescue
New Dry Fire Hydrant
Located at the Howe Island Township 3 Car Ferry
If you are a resident of Howe Island, and you live within 5 km of the Howe Island East 3 Car Ferry, be advised, that a NEW Dry Fire Hydrant has been installed which will allow Howe Island Fire & Rescue quick access to a water supply in situations of FIRE!
As a resident you are encouraged to contact your insurance company and advise them that you now are within a 5 km distance of the nearest hydrant, and this should qualify you for a reduced rate in your fire insurance. There are many insurance companies that recognize this factor, and so you should take advantage of this added infrastructure to the Howe Island community.
NOTE: Other Dry Fire Hydrants are located at #2 Howe Island Dr. (County Ferry) and just east of # 930 Howe Island Dr. If you are within a 5 km distance of either of these hydrants, you too should reach out to your insurance company to discuss the potential for a reduced insurance rate.
